I have just hung up the phone with
the President of GCW. The new venue for Our show on
August 23rd, 2008 will be the Zamora Shrine Temple
which is located conveniently off both I-459 and I-20
in the Birmingham/Leeds Area. We are all excited about
this change in venue. We hope you are as well.
I Will have the updated Press Statement
on the site by the morning. I have also been assured
that we will have the updated posters on the site
(as well as the MySpace site) by the morning.

2008.08.12 - UPDATE
I've been asked about the Press Release that I've
been using for the show on the 23rd. For those who
would like to use it; It is in Adobe PDF Format. Press

First off, allow me to say I know
it's been a while. Things are happening at a furious
pace, and sometimes it is difficult to find the time
needed to get things going over here. At the risk
of sounding crass, sometimes is is easier to simply
post to the message board.
I'm sure that a great number of you
have heard that The Nature Boy Ric Flair is booked
and will be appearing on our August 23rd show in Pell
City Alabama. This event will be held in the Center
for Eduacation and Performing Arts. I have a physical
address of 25 Williamson Drive on record here in my
office.
From what I am gathering. If you are
coming on I-20: Use Exit 156 (Eden/Pell City) and
go East on Highway 78. It should be 2.2 miles when
you get to 11th Street. Turn Right onto 11th Street.
.02 miles to Williamson Drive then Turn Right. I'll
be doing some double-checking and have the information
as soon as I can.
I can speak for all of us in GCW when
I say that it is going to be great to have The Nature
Boy with us. As you know this show is a benefit for
The Family of Pell City Officer Greg Surles. We hope
that you will come out and join us on this very special
night.
Now, before we go to Pell City.. Remember,
GCW Hot Summer Nights makes a stop in Palmerdale Alabama
for what will be an exciting night where we turn up
the heat to match Mother Nature. I've been assured
that I will have the information for the show by Tuesday
Morning. As soon as I have all of the information,
I will have it right here in the news section.
I made a reference to the message
board and there are a couple of things that I would
like to hit on here. This is a straight shooting session..
no doublespeak allowed. I personally think that the
message board is a good object to have when people
use it properly. When I made the reference to people
voicing their opinions, I meant it then, and I mean
it now. However, there is a rampant 'thin skin complex'
on the board as well. I'm going to say this: If you
have a disagreement with someone on the board, re-read
their comment before flying off the handle. You can
make a point without insulting someone or insulting
their intelligence. We all use the message board for
the same reasons. I, of course, am choosing to overlook
the ones who try to use the message board to 'get
themselves over' or just 'stir the pot'. I'm sure
that quite a few of you know that there is an IP address
monitor in use on the board. And We look at it on
a daily basis. So, we can pretty much figure who is
who on there. We are not planning to take it back
to a 'login/password' system at this point. The currentn
system still seems to be working.
I'm going to wrap it there for now..

night. It was a wild night.. but.. with GCW I've come
to expect that and so much more. Here's the quick

Last night I made
the statement "Don't Blink". I was not referring
to the Kenny Chesney song. For those who missed it
last night. This one had all of the ingredients in
place for an explosion.. and that happened several
times last night.
I would like to tip
my hat to everyone who hit the ring last night
I've received e-mails
asking me if I would have really stayed on the stage
and stood up to Maddog Dan Sawyer. Yes. I would have.
I'm not going to be pushed around by anyone.
The reference to
"The Studio" that he made last night is
from a show that took place years ago during my initial
run with GCW. Sawyer came up from behind and took
a cheap shot and laid me out with a chair. He's done
that to me on two occasions. I remember that, obviously,
as well as he does.
Now, that having
been said.. I am also not an idiot. I would like to
thank "The Machine" Guff Grayson for standing
with me last night. Let me set the rumors to rest..
The Machine told me that he is not coming out of retirement.
But, he did say that if anything were to have happened
last night, he would have stood with me.
Sawyer, I said it
last night.. I'll say it again in this forum. I know
you can probably physically kick my tail.. I have
no problem with that. But, by the same token.. I will
never run and hide from you or anyone. Whether it
be In the arenas or in the board room.. I will stand
up for myself.
Now.. Let us move
on.. GCW Hot Summer Nights hits the road and goes
to Pell City, Alabama in just six days from now. We
have already signed four Matches for Pell City on
the 26th:
Joey Lightning and The INHuman Fly will Challenge
the Samoan Soldiers for the GCW Tag Team Championship.
Rock-n-Roll Rock-C, Genni Right and Veronica Fairchild
will lock up in a Ladies Triple Threat match-up.
Jesse Pain will finally get his rematch with Theodore
Tutwiler III for The GCW Championship.
Maddog Dan Sawyer and David Young will finally go
one-on-one and face to face... but it will be in a
Lumberjack Strap Match.
I will have more
information Monday afternoon and it will be here on
the website.
